AKAB Trilogy (2019-2020)
AKAB comprises three interconnected works forming a conceptual trilogy, marking the author's debut. It encompasses the mixtape "5000 (13/12)" alongside the albums AKAB vol.1 and AKAB vol.2.
Released on September 1, 2019, "Mixtape 5000 (13/12)" represents the artist's initial foray into audio experimentation utilizing DAW, DJ equipment, and various recorders. The mixtape embodies emotions ranging from rage to fear and hysteria, evident in its diverse musical selection spanning cold industrial techno to light new wave and classic hip-hop tracks addressing themes of police brutality. Interwoven within the tracks are audio recordings from Minsk, depicting the process of evading capture by the police.
A year following its release, the mixtape was withdrawn from all platforms and archived for the author's safety.
‘All Kids Are Batched vol.1’is an abstract electronic album consisting of 13 tracks, each intricately portraying different phases in the life of a child and teenager within a post-Soviet state, constitutes the conceptual essence of the AKAB. trilogy's second part. This introspective album delves into experiences and fears entwined with the complexities of upbringing, ceaseless confrontation with existential paradoxes, and the poignant sense of loss in the realm of self-identification. It grapples with an awareness of absolute helplessness and a continuous state of shock.
The final part of the trilogy ‘AKAB vol.2’ delves deeper into the theme of collective fear, while also heightening the portrayal of the antagonist. Its concept revolves around utilizing traumatic experiences as a potent weapon for revenge, with the aim of granting the author a sense of dominance over fear.
Presented at Lo-Fi Social Club, Minsk on the 10th of November, 2019. Later exhibited as a part of Belarusian Art Festival in HAU Berlin in April 2022.
